This Privacy Policy explains how Clarity UPSC (the "App"), the
Android and iOS application and the associated websites clarityupsc.com
and clarityofconcept.com (together, the "Service"),
operated by Westtech ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, shares, and
protects your information. The Service helps users prepare for the UPSC Civil Services
Examination through lessons, current-affairs news, practice quizzes, notes, and short videos.
By using the Service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Quick summary. We collect the minimum needed to run your account, sync your
study data, process premium subscriptions, and improve the App. We do not sell your personal
data. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the
App, or by emailing us at
clarityofconcept@gmail.com.
Account information — when you sign in (via email, Google Sign-In, or
Sign in with Apple) we receive your email address, display name, and a
unique account identifier, through Google Firebase Authentication.
User-generated content — notes you write, highlights, saved short videos,
bookmarks, and quiz/lesson activity you create in the App.
Communications — messages you send us by email for support.
2.2 Information collected automatically
Usage & analytics data — screens viewed, features used, session
timing, and similar in-app events, collected via Firebase Analytics to understand and
improve the App. This is used in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.
Diagnostics / crash data — crash logs and error diagnostics via Firebase
Crashlytics so we can fix problems.
Device & technical data — device model, operating-system version, app
version, language, and a push-notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) if you enable
notifications.
Study progress — streaks, completion status, and watch/read progress so we
can sync your progress across web and app.
2.3 Payment data
If you purchase a premium subscription, payment is handled by the relevant payment processor
— Google Play Billing and RevenueCat for in-app purchases, and
Razorpay for payments made on our website. We receive confirmation of your
subscription status and entitlement, but we do not collect or store your full card or
bank details — those are handled directly by the payment processor under their own
privacy terms.
3. How we use your data
To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
To sync your notes, saved content, and study progress across devices and the web.
To provide, personalise, and improve lessons, news, quizzes, and the Shorts video feed.
To process premium subscriptions and grant the corresponding entitlements.
To send you notifications you have opted into (e.g. study reminders), which you can disable
at any time in your device settings or in-app.
To analyse aggregate usage and diagnose crashes so we can improve reliability.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers
that help us run the Service, and only as needed:
Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging,
Analytics, Crashlytics, Storage) — account, sync, notifications, analytics, diagnostics.
See Google's Privacy Policy.
YouTube / Google — short videos in the App are embedded from YouTube;
when you watch them, YouTube may process viewing data under Google's Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat and Google Play Billing — to manage in-app
subscriptions and entitlements.
Razorpay — to process payments made through our website.
Authorities — where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
5. International data transfers
We are based in India and our primary infrastructure is hosted in India. Some of our service
providers (e.g. Google, RevenueCat) may process data on servers located in other countries,
including the United States. Where data is transferred internationally, it remains subject to
this Policy and the providers' own safeguards.
6. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we
remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain
certain records to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations. Aggregated or anonymised
analytics that can no longer identify you may be retained.
7. Your rights & choices
Access & correction — you can view and update your profile information
in the App, or contact us to request a copy or correction of your data.
Deletion — see Section 8.
Notifications — you can turn push notifications on or off in your device
settings or in-app settings.
Withdraw consent — you can stop using the Service and request deletion at
any time.
8. How to delete your account & data
You can delete your account and associated personal data in either of these ways:
In the app: open Settings → Delete Account and confirm. Your
account is scheduled for deletion; you can cancel by signing in again before the deadline,
after which your personal data is permanently removed.
By email: write to
clarityofconcept@gmail.com from your
registered email address and we will process your deletion request.
Deletion removes your account profile, notes, saved content, and study progress. Some records
may be retained where legally required (see Section 6).
9. Data security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS),
authenticated access controls, and reputable managed infrastructure (Google Firebase). No method
of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review
our practices.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for users preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination and is
designed for adults (18 years and older). It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not
knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us
personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the
"Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App or by email. Your continued
use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
