Why in news?
On 14 April 2026, India delivered 13 tonnes of Bacille Calmette‑Guérin (BCG) vaccines and related supplies to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health. The shipment aims to support the country’s childhood immunisation programme against tuberculosis. Background
The BCG vaccine is the only licensed vaccine for tuberculosis (TB).
