Why in news?
The Andhra Pradesh government approved the Amaravati Quantum Valley Declaration (AQVD) in partnership with companies such as IBM, Tata Consultancy Services and L&T. The declaration aims to turn Amaravati into a hub for quantum technologies.
What is the AQVD?
- Strategic framework: The declaration outlines plans to develop research infrastructure, attract investment and build human capital in quantum computing, communication and sensing.
- Public–private partnership: It envisages collaboration between the state government, academic institutions and private firms to establish quantum laboratories, incubators and pilot projects.
