Background
Youth CoLab was co‑created in 2017 to empower young entrepreneurs working on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In the 2026 Indian edition, more than 350 applications were received. Fifty startups were selected for a three‑month virtual programme, focusing on sustainable textiles and fashion, circular economy innovations and sustainable food systems with water conservation. After evaluations and a regional boot camp in Hyderabad, six winners and runners‑up were chosen.

- Sustainable textiles and fashion: Startups working on eco‑friendly fabrics, waste reduction and fair wages. Winners included companies producing organic cotton garments and upcycled accessories.
- Circular economy innovations: Projects focusing on recycling, reuse and waste‑to‑product technologies. Winners developed biodegradable packaging and compostable everyday items.
- Sustainable food systems: Enterprises promoting drought‑tolerant crops, water‑efficient farming and healthy food alternatives. Winners created products like millet‑based snacks and low‑water vegetable cultivation kits.
Significance
- Youth leadership: The challenge empowers young innovators to address pressing environmental issues and social challenges.
