Why in news?
India announced that more than 700 personnel from its Army, Navy and Air Force will participate in the tri‑service exercise “Bright Star 2025”, to be held in Egypt.
About the exercise
Exercise Bright Star is a biennial multilateral military drill hosted by Egypt and the United States since 1980. It aims to enhance interoperability among participating countries and to build capacity for joint operations in complex environments.
Key elements of the 2025 edition
- Tri‑service participation: The exercise brings together armies, navies and air forces from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
- Live firing and manoeuvres: Participants will practise combined arms tactics, amphibious assaults and coordinated air support.
