Why in news?
The India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 took place from 8 to 11 October at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. It is Asia’s largest event for digital communications and showcases innovations in telecommunications and information technology. The 2025 theme was “Innovate to Transform.”
Highlights
- Scale of the event: The exhibition attracted more than 1.5 lakh visitors, 7,000 delegates, over 400 companies and about 1,600 use cases.
- Technological focus: Demonstrations covered 5G and 6G networks, artificial intelligence, quantum communication, semiconductors, Internet of Things, optical fibre and measures to combat cyber fraud.
- Start‑ups and innovation: A dedicated start‑up pavilion showcased indigenous products and services. Competitions encouraged entrepreneurs to develop new solutions for telecom and digital services.
