Why in news?

The Stockholm International Water Institute announced that Professor Kaveh Madani, Director of the United Nations University’s Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU‑INWEH), will receive the 2026 Stockholm Water Prize. He will be honoured by the King of Sweden during World Water Week in August 2026.

The Stockholm Water Prize, established in 1991, is considered the world’s most prestigious water award.
